Kansas City, Mo. - A total of 1,070 student-athletes were recognized as 2020-21 Heart Scholar-Athletes, announced by the Heart Conference office Thursday afternoon. | Heart Release
In order to qualify for this honor, a student-athlete must have met the following criteria:
- A cumulative GPA of 3.40 or higher (on a 4.0 scale).
- Accumulated a minimum of 60 credit hours, completed at least 5 semesters, and attended the nominating institution for at least two semesters prior to being nominated.
- Documented participation in a varsity competition in the sport for which they are being nominated for.
The 14 reporting institutions averaged 76.43 honorees, with seven institutions boasting at least 70 academic standouts. A total of 82 honorees currently boast a spotless 4.0 cumulative GPA.
Central finished the year with 48 Heart-Scholar Athletes. Both women's soccer and softball led the way with eight scholar-athletes, followed by baseball with seven. To view the complete list of Heart Scholar-Athletes by team for CMU, please see below.
